Montreal, Canada, June 27, 2017 – Equisoft is pleased to announce that it has accomplished another important milestone in its pursuit of excellence by successfully completing the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 audit SOC 2, a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

This audit was performed to meet corporate governance best practices and testify that Equisoft has very robust security controls and safeguards in place when hosting or processing client data. The audit was conducted by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton (RCGT) over the 12-month period ending April 30, 2017, and will be repeated on a yearly basis with all controls being also tested going forward.

The SSAE 16 certification not only covers the information technology infrastructure that supports Equisoft’s operations, but more importantly all control objectives and activities related to our front-end solutions (WealthElements, InsuranceElements), as well as our Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) integration service offering.

“The security and confidentiality of client data are matters of the utmost importance to us, as is maintaining the trust of all the markets we serve,” says Steeve Michaud, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Equisoft. “The successful completion of SSAE 16 reinforces our value to the industry as it shows evidence that the quality of our technology and the integrity of our operating procedures are world-class. It will provide our clients with the peace of mind in maintaining their relationship with Equisoft and engaging in future projects.”

“As we further expand in different regions of the world, we get more and more business opportunities with top-tier insurers and financial institutions that require their service providers to comply with generally accepted standards,” added Equisoft’s CEO Luis Romero.” Having earned this certification certainly positions us very favourably to perform outsourcing services for small to large companies, to host clients on our own servers, and to manage and process their data as we enhance our value offering with turnkey cloud-based solutions.”
