The path to readiness

Why you need the whitepaper:

  • Comprehensive Guidance: The whitepaper provides step-by-step instructions for pension schemes and providers on how to prepare for the final PDP connection deadline, including project mobilization, understanding regulatory requirements, and ensuring data and operational readiness.
  • Actionable Strategies: With contributions from industry experts like David Poynton, and Joanna Eldridge, Industry Engagement Specialist at The Pensions Regulator, the whitepaper offers valuable insights and best practices from professionals deeply involved in the PDP process.
  • Practical Tools and Timelines: The whitepaper includes practical tools, such as an example project timeline and suggested durations for various activities, to help schemes and providers efficiently plan and manage their connection projects, ensuring they meet the deadlines and compliance requirements effectively.

In this whitepaper, you'll learn:

  • Project Mobilization: Key steps for initiating or reinstating your PDP readiness project, including staffing and budgeting.
  • Understanding Your Landscape: Navigating regulatory requirements, assessing your technology and scheme landscapes, and managing risk and compliance.
  • Data and Reporting: Ensuring data quality and meeting PDP standards for member, value, and scheme data.
  • Technology and Operational Readiness: Selecting an Integrated Service Provider (ISP), integrating with PDP, testing, deployment, and establishing new operational processes.

Connection deadlines

The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has published guidance (updated in April 24), which reiterates the DWP’s message to pay due regard to the ‘connect by date’. Not following this guidance could expose you to a greater risk of non-compliance with their dashboard duties. It appears that a significant number of schemes and providers are already on board with this advice, with around half of those polled by Equisoft planning to connect all their schemes at once at the earliest guidance date or per scheme.

However, around two-fifths said they are not sure of their approach at this time. This is a decision that needs to be made quickly in order to begin preparations for connection and demonstrate to TPR, FCA and the DWP that they have regard for the guidance.
